Our Learning centre is open to people with experience of mental health challenges. We support people who want to learn new skills and build on their existing skills as part of their journey to wellness.
Our centre consists of two fully equipped computer workshops with learning resources to:
Develop skills that will increase community base opportunities
Set educational and career goals
Develop action plans to meet goals
Develop transferable skills as appropriate in their areas
plus
Computing skills from beginner to NZQA Level 2
Interpersonal communication
Employment skills
Numeracy
Literacy
In addition to computer and workbased learning we hold daily communication and social interaction group sessions in the kitchen and dining area. We also regularly invite guest speakers in and organise activities and trips to encourage community participation.
