My background in secondary and adult education equipped me for some of the work I now do with Hutt Valley families, but was no preparation for my personal and family experience of mental distress.
I was supported and educated by Supporting Families Wairarapa to cope with the impact of this and eventually joined the governance body and was later employed as a Field Worker, enabling me to facilitate other family/whanau on the journey to recovery.
I have enjoyed my past two years of work and additional training at Atareira.
