I am delighted to be working for Atareira as Family/Whanau worker for the Porirua district, my own local conmmunity. From personal experience and from my experience as a qualified counsellor I recognize the many difficulties the Family/Whanau face while experiencing mental health issues within the family.
My interest in this role stems from a strong desire to assist families struggling with these issues. I am committed to standing with people who are vulnerable by coming alongside, encouraging, educating and empowering them. I also bring with me my strong connections to the area and knowledge of the many services and organizations working in the Porirua district.
