Hello, I am the Education worker for Atareira. My first involvement with Atareira was when it was known as 'The Schizophrenia Fellowship'. Both my family and myself where given invaluable support here. As a young person I became involved with SF's Education Programme in schools using my personal experience. Four years ago I became the Education Worker.
I come from a big close-knit family spread as far away as Western Australia and currently live close to the beach in Petone. I love music, historical novels, and our family dog Winston the Corgi.
I give presentations at up to 14 schools in the Wellington Region every year about mental health and mental illness. I also talk to adult students and organisations in the community about experience of mental illness and recovery.
