Atareira is that special time when night ends and just before the dawn breaks. The name Atareira (pronounced Ah-ta-ray-rah) reflects the idea of "moving to a world of light" (Ki te Whai ao ki te ao Mārama).
The logo is symbolic of the ripple effect of mental distress within families and whanau and friendships. It signifies the caring that can reach out and around the distressed person.
This caring can be more effective when friends and families are strengthened by the education, advocacy and support from a Family and Whanau Support Service.
The ever lightening ellipses in the logo indicate that there is a move from a dark place, through education, grief work and understanding. In other words, they symbolise the recovery process, towards a lighter place of life experience for family and whanau.
